Description Technical Specs
Perfect for all exterior siding applications. Our innovative RAIN SCREEN technology equalizes the air pressure within the wall system by creating a drainage and ventilation cavity between the weather resistant barrier (WRB) and the exterior wall. This design allows excess moisture to drain from the wall system and allows ventilated air to circulate and dry the interior wall components.

  • Perfect for wood, stone, stucco, brick, or fiber cement siding.
  • Creates a dedicated airspace behind siding for enhanced drainage and ventilation.
  • Helps to prevent moisture problems, mold growth, and premature wall assembly deterioration.
  • Integrated insect screen.
  • Class A fire rating.
  • 30-day UV exposure (max).

Mortairvent Installation
The Importance of Rainscreen Technology: What is a rainscreen? A rainscreen is a pressure-equalized airspace between the structural envelope and the exterior cladding that promotes drainage of moisture from the wall system. Rainscreens were designed to allow the moisture to "drain, not remain". The air pressure difference across the exterior cladding is a significant force causing the infiltration of air and water on windward facades. The equalization of this pressure neutralizes the forces that draw moisture into the assembly. Manufactured at our Geotextiles Facility, we recently redesigned Mortairvent to be manufactured from 40% recycled content qualifying it for LEED credits. We have also increased the compression strength of Mortairvent allowing for better ventilation and drainage as compared to other products on the market. Why Mortairvent? Our innovative rainscreen technology equilizes the air pressure within the wall system by creating a ventilation cavity between the weather resistant barrier (WRB) and the exterior wall. The polymore-core mesh creates the airspace while the filter fabric blocks mortar from seeping into the newly formed cavity. This design allows excess moisture to drain and not remain in the wall system.

The material is fine, thank you.  Ordering was easy and delivery went smoothly.  However, the wrong product was delivered and that's when Spycor really showed their mettle by arranging for pickup of the incorrect product with delivery of the correct product.  Thank you!
